Welcome

Our traditional fishing hut can be found on the shore at Aldeburgh, at the north end of Crag Path opposite The Wentworth Hotel.

Established for over twenty years, we have been catching the finest local fish and shellfish, using environmentally and sustainable methods.

All our fish are in prime condition when landed, and are immediately stored on ice to keep them perfectly fresh for our customers to enjoy.

We use three environmentally and sustainable methods of fishing, which are:

Crab and Lobster Pots
We use specially designed crab and lobster pots to catch our shellfish.
All berried (egg carrying) females are immediately returned unharmed, as are any lobsters that are undersize, ( measuring less than 87mm carapace length).
All our lobsters are placed in our lobster holding tank which has been specifically designed to keep lobsters in perfect condition in a humane way.
All undersize crabs ( measuring less than 115mm) are also returned unharmed.

Line fishing. [Click on the picture on the left to see the video]
The majority of our cod, skate, bass and dogfish are line caught.
This is a very selective method of fishing which produces top quality fish for the table. You can see this method in action on our longline video clip, along with tips on how to fillet a cod.

Drift netting.
We use traditional drift nets to catch Dover sole, dabs, flounders, herring, sprats and also bass.
As the name suggests, these nets rely entirely on the tide to drift along and catch the fish.
This method means that the fish caught are top quality.
We use large meshed nets to allow juvenile fish to escape unharmed.

Our longshore boats land their catch daily to our shop on the seafront, ensuring that our products are the freshest available.
